What is Historai?
Historai makes personalized, AI-generated history podcasts. Choose a topic or question, then listen to a narrated episode with chapters. You can ask questions about the story as you listen.
Can I use Historai for free?
A free account starts with 30 welcome episode minutes and 3 questions. After the welcome period, the free allowance is 10 episode minutes and 1 question each month. Replays do not spend creation minutes.
You can also explore published episodes in the public history archive and Community.
What does membership include?
Membership includes 120 episode minutes and 10 questions each month for US$5.99 per month. When available, annual membership is US$64.99 per year, with minutes and questions still refreshing monthly. Billing is in US dollars.
Unused minutes and questions do not roll over. Available billing options are shown before purchase.
What are episode minutes and questions?
Episode minutes are the allowance for creating new podcasts. Creating a 10-minute episode uses 10 episode minutes. Asking a question uses the separate question allowance. Listening again to an existing episode uses neither.
Are the podcasts historically accurate?
Historai uses AI to research, write and narrate its episodes. AI-generated content can make factual mistakes or oversimplify disputed history. Use the linked sources to investigate important claims and compare accounts, especially for study or research.
Where can I find transcripts and sources?
Open the Info panel on a public episode to read its transcript and source links. Follow the story in text, revisit a chapter, or open a source to learn more.
Which languages and episode lengths are available?
You can choose English, French, Spanish, Italian, German or Russian, with episode lengths of 5, 10 or 15 minutes. Episodes can use one narrator or two hosts.
Can I cancel my membership?
You can manage or cancel an active subscription through the membership page. Your cancellation status and access end date are shown there. Your existing library remains available for replays.
