Delete your Historai account

You can delete your account and everything in it yourself, at any time, in the app or on the web. If you can’t sign in, email us and we’ll do it for you.

Delete it yourself

  1. Sign in at historai.ca or in the Historai app.
  2. Open Profile, then the Membership tab.
  3. Under Account, choose Delete my account…, type DELETE and confirm.

Deletion happens straight away. If you have a paid membership, it is cancelled first, so you are not charged again.

Can’t sign in?

Email historai.mail@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We confirm by email and delete it within 30 days, usually much sooner.

What is deleted

Your account and profile (name, email, username, password, interests and preferences), every episode and series you made, including their audio and artwork, your questions to the hosts, quiz results, listening history and your sessions. Episodes you published leave the Community and your share links stop working.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Usage and cost records (how many AI tokens an episode used, and when), with no episode content. Kept for accounting.
  • Feedback messages you chose to send us.
  • If you joined through a friend’s invite: a one-way hash of your email, so the same inbox can’t claim the invite bonus twice. The email itself can’t be recovered from it.
  • Payment records held by Stripe, which it keeps for its own legal and accounting obligations.
  • Server backups, which rotate out within 7 days.
